I'm underage (16) and I got to thinking about people my age who have credit cards (and not with their parents account/consent). They've lied about their age on the application. Is there any punishment for this? Does anyone find out? Could a minor really get into trouble for this? Can't you just pay off the card?
Considering a credit card company can't contract with a minor, i would think the error would be on them (the credit card company). Theoretically, the minor could just not pay the bill, and the CC company couldn't do anything about it because there was no legal contract.
however, if the minor mailed the application back, they could be liable for mail fraud, which is a felony. if it was done over the internet, it could be wire fraud.
I really don't think they care...as long as one makes the monthly payments.
What is the punishment for lying about age on a credit card application?

So instead of these weird “points”, I get 1% cash back on my CC purchases. So periodically I get a check in the mail for $50.00 from the CC company. It takes obviously $5,000.00 of charges which could take months. I pay my balance on time every month.
Wire fraud cases involve parties who construct and then carry out a plan to defraud victims by utilizing the interstate wire communication system.
Wire fraud involves schemes communicated over the interstate wire networks in order to induce people to invest money or to buy property or make other forms of investment, where no prospect of investing safety or investment return is possible.
If your order wasn't processed at all due to your credit card company denying payment, then no money should have actually been taken from you. Check your card transactions online if you can.

Is this charged to a credit card? Just call your CC company and say it was stolen and get a new one. They may try to send your bill to collections (I doubt they will) but I imagine you'll be able to dispute it and win. Note that this has the possibility of messing up your credit history if it doesn't work.
What about the case when someone has manageable debt with a good credit rating, and then a credit card company decides to cancel one of their credit cards and destroys their credit rating? Then, without any choice in the matter, the remaining credit cards APRs go up to, oh, I dunno, 30% or so when they had previously been around 7%? All of the sudden, a perfectly manageable debt has become completely unmanageable due to no fault of the debt holders. Maybe you should consider *that* case? (And yes, I've seen this happen)
More for credit since each time they process a CC charge, they have to pay a small fee to the CC company. Some gas stations have a minimum amount you must spend before you can use your CC to balance out the CC company fee.
